PREVIOUS MINUTES:  Motion by Ron Hindmarsh and 2nd by Dave Hertko to accept the

December 11, 2017, meeting minutes as presented.  Motion passed.

ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE REPORT:  F.S. Boggler introduced two new members who have submitted paperwork and have been approved for transfer from other Councils.  They are David Vogt and Russell Knell.

GRAND KNIGHT REPORT:  G.K. Larez expressed his thanks for all members who stepped in to assist with Council needs during his recent absence due to illness.

TREASURER REPORT:  Doug Becker reported for December:     $4436.38  Beginning Balance                                                                                                             $4230.80  Ending Balance

FINANCIAL SECRETARY REPORT:  None

TRUSTEES REPORT:  None.

CHANCELLOR REPORT:  None

SERVICE PROGRAM REPORT:  None

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORT:  Wes Berry reminded members of the road cleanup scheduled for this Saturday, January 13th , at 10:30 A.M.  John Ravetto reminded members of the K.C. breakfast after morning Mass times January 20th.  Earl Boggler shared that an order has been sent for the annual Parish Easter Egg Hunt items.  Doug Becker reminded members of the February 18th, Blood Drive.  All these activities will need assistance from fellow Knights.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:  None.

NEW BUSINESS:  D.G.K. Mellinger shared that the annual Council Mid-Year State meeting will be held at Sacred Heart this Saturday, January 13th.  G.K. Larez reminded members of Council #8386,  annual family pot-luck dinner after 4:30 Mass this Saturday, January 13th.

4th DEGREE REPORT:  Doug Becker shared that the monthly meeting will be Monday, January 15th at regular time.  He also shared that there is a need for assistance for the annual Flag Retirement activity in June and that there is a Color Guard call out for January 18th.

DISTRICT DEPUTY REPORT:  None

GOOD OF THE ORDER:  G.K. Larez asked that names of any Knights or their family who are ill to be sent to him for follow up contact.  Prayer request for the following:  Jeanne Kochan, Mike Russell,

SPECIAL GUEST RECOGNITION:  D.G.K. Mellinger introduced District  Gary Johnson.

CHAPLAIN REPORT:  Dcn. Wayland shared that the January Council meeting will include Adoration time in the Church.  He also encouraged members with Council partners to continue getting to know each other better and went over the results of the recent Council survey.

GRAND KNIGHT REPORT:  D.G.K Mellinger shared that G.K. Lexy Larez is still at home recovering from his recent surgery but doing well enough for phone calls during the day.

TREASURER REPORT:  Doug Becker reported for November:              $4406.50 Beginning Balance                                                                                                                $4428.68 Ending Balance

FINANCIAL SECRETARY REPORT:  Earl Boggler gave a current status report and reported on the passing of Brothers, Gordon Ackerman (May 23, 2017), Tom Gugliotta (December 8, 2017).

TRUSTEES REPORT:  None.

SERVICE PROGRAM REPORT:  None

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORT:  None

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:  Doug Becker reported the recent Blood Drive was a success with 42 Donors participating and resulting in 111% of goal.

NEW BUSINESS:   John Ravetto reminded members of the December 17th Council breakfast and December 25th turkey dinner.  Both events can use member assistance.  /  Don Rowley shared that he might have a Form 100 applicant for membership.

4th DEGREE REPORT:  Doug Becker shared that there will not be a meeting in December.

DISTRICT DEPUTY REPORT:  District Deputy Gary Johnson thanked members for having him attend tonight and shared that Council #8386, is the first to receive State Raffle tickets this time.  He suggested that members might consider providing tickets as a Christmas gift option.  D.D. Johnson also presented a “Columbian Award” plaque for Past Grand Knight Dave Hertko.  His closing comments included information regarding a new pilot membership drive which only a few Districts (States), are participating in. Arizona is one of the States which offer new membership via electronic access by clicking answers to just a few questions.

GOOD OF THE ORDER:  F.S. Boggler passed out Raffle ticket packets to members present.  He also shared that Fred Cabebe continues to have health issues.

SPECIAL GUEST RECOGNITION:  Earl Boggler introduced Mike Russell who is requesting reinstatement into Council #8386.  Mike shared some of his background.

CHAPLAIN REPORT:  Dcn. Wayland asked all members to meet socially with their assigned partners soon and to consider signing up for Parish Adoration.

PREVIOUS MINUTES:  Motion by Earl Boggler and 2nd by John Ravetto to accept the October 9, 2017, meeting minutes as presented.  Motion passed.

ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE REPORT:  Earl Boggler reported that a Form 100, requesting  Mike Russell’s` reinstatement into Council #8386, has been submitted.  G.K. Larez asked for approval by members present, which passed.

GRAND KNIGHT REPORT:  G.K. Larez asked for members patience and support during this Fraternal Year as the council goes forward with it’s many activities yet to do.

TREASURER REPORT:  Doug Becker reported for October:    $3910.90  Beginning Balance                                                                                                         $4291.83  Ending Balance

FINANCIAL SECRETARY REPORT:  Earl Boggler gave a current status report.

TRUSTEES REPORT:  None.

CHANCELLOR REPORT:  None

SERVICE PROGRAM REPORT:  G.K. Larez spoke about the current status of vital vacancies with Council Activity Chairman positions.  Earl Boggler shared that an updated copy would be available soon.

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORT:  John Ravetto reminded members about the upcoming Knights Breakfast after 8:00 and 10:00 A.M. Mass.  Wes Berry shared information regarding current signage of Council 8386, Road Clean-Up area of responsibility along Glassford Hill Road.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:  None

NEW BUSINESS:   G.K. Larez asked for members to assist with the Religious Education Confirmation Retreat on November 18th.  Knights will cook hot dogs and hamburgers.  Assistance is also needed for the 11/19/17, K.C. Breakfast after morning Mass and the K.C. 12/25/17, K.C. noontime meal for those who are alone on Christmas Day.  G.K. Larez reminded members of the 11/26/17 Corporate Communion at 10 A.M. Mass and that the Council Annual Christmas gathering date is still yet pending.

4th DEGREE REPORT:  Doug Becker reminded members of the 4th Degree meeting on 11/20/17 and the need for assistance during the 12/10/17, Blood Drive.  Help to set up about 7:15 A.M. and cleanup about 2:00 P.M.

DISTRICT DEPUTY REPORT:  None

GOOD OF THE ORDER:  G.K. Larez asked for names of anyone who is in need of assistance such as a ride to council activities, etc.  G. K. also allowed time given to members who wished share as to why they placed those names given onto the Prayer Request List. He also shared to the council of his now scheduled surgery on 12/5/17.
